WELCOME LITTLE SIRIUS





 


We are welcoming little Come As You Are Sirius, born on 5 May 2005.
Our dearly beloved Willy (Come As You Are Dogzilla) suddenly died on 12 May 2005 when the beautiful spring was at its best. Willy was a perfectly healthy dog so his unexpected death was a total shock to us. We had waited for the spring and summer so much and had many nice plans for them but now everything was just sad and gloomy. The house and garden were too empty, there was nothing to do and it was difficult to even sit in the garden.
Even if we missed Dear Willy and grieved for his death a lot – and still do - we simply couldn´t think about a life without a Dobermann, we have had them for more than 20 years, besides Willy also Aksu (Clinics Alexander 1983-1997) and Pentti (Clinics Ola 1987-1999).  Willy was a perfect friend and Dobermann in all respects, a Dobermann one can get once in a million years, if ever, and we do realize that his boots are too big to fill for anybody. Sirius, however, is his own charming person and we love him as himself and he has already brought us lots of joy and happiness.







Willy´s wonderful breeders Daniela and Muki happened to have a new litter, born a week before Willy´s death, the mother is Willy´s halfsister, lovely Come As You Feba and the father Matt di Stefusto. We like Feba very much and can vividly remember her and Willy sitting together on the victor's stand after having won their classes at IDC Bratislava in 2003.

The timing for having a new puppy was very good; it´s easy to teach and train a puppy in the summertime and long holidays enable us to get acquainted with each other and him to smoothly become familiar with his new home.

 

 

At the beginning of June we made a trip to the Euro Dog Show in Tulln, Austria and during the trip also went to see the puppies which at that time were 5 weeks old. There were 11 lovely black puppies, 4 females and 7 males. All of them were absolutely cute and very strong and it would had been very difficult to make any choices between them but fortunately the White Boy made the decision for us and obviously chose Antti: he wanted to go and sleep behind his back. Maybe that was a sign and later we heard that we could have the White Boy.
At the end of June we travelled back to the European Continent and after having some vacation brought little Sirius and his brother Scirocco, the Green Boy, to Finland. The boys had a good time in the car during our long drive, it was nice to have two puppies on the journey, they didn´t feel lonely and were good company for each other. They behaved excellently in hotels and ship cabins, we were very proud of the little boys.

Sirius made himself at home immediately. He loves to play with all kinds of dogs and he also likes all people, dozens of friends have wanted to welcome him and visited us. He loves flowers and other plants and wants to taste everything, we can´t help thinking that he must have been a gardener in his previous life. His character is excellent, he is very happy, open and friendly, curious, brisk and brave, smart and playful but also calm and does not fuss. It´s just wonderful to see his unprejudiced attitude to all new things. In fact, we are happy to see that he very much reminds us of our old boys.
From the very beginning Sirius has started to learn all kinds of practical skills like sitting, being houseclean, swimming, walking in city traffic and dark woods, travelling by tram and metro and knowing the borders of his own garden - and he seems to be a very good pupil. We have also had some show training, his first show will be the IDC in Bratislava, Slovakia at the beginning of September.

We are very happy about Sirius, he has finally brought us the summer.
